Materials

  • 4 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 cup honey
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp. Savory Thoughts Chipotle seasoning more if needed
  • 2 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
  • vinegar or lime juice (optional)
  • Water to thin it out (optional)

Instructions

  • Build your base
    In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the garlic and cook just until fragrant—don’t let it burn.
    Add the chipotle
    add the chipotle seasoning. Do not let it burn.
    Let it cook for a 30 seconds to a minute, so the flavors deepen.

  • Sweeten and balance
    Pour in the honey and stir well. Add a splash of vinegar or lime juice to balance the sweetness.
    Let the sauce simmer gently until slightly thickened.
    Taste and adjust
    Taste your sauce and adjust:
    More honey → sweeter
    More chipotle → spicier
    More vinegar → brighter
