Materials

For the chipotle garlic wings

  • 16 chicken wings (with bones or boneless)
  • 2 tbsp Savory Thoughts Chipotle Seasoning
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 ½ tbsp kosher salt

Egg mixture

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup water

Breading

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour; more if needed
  • ½ cup cornstarch; more if needed
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • ½ tbsp Savory Thoughts Chipotle Seasoning

For the chipotle sauce

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup honey
  • 4 garlic cloves; minced or grated
  • 2 tbsp Savory Thoughts Chipotle seasoning, more if needed
  • 2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • vinegar or lime juice (optional)
  • Water to thin it out (optional)

Instructions

  • Season the chicken: Start by adding your wings to a large bowl.
Season with: Savory Thoughts Chipotle Seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, Rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar), Kosher salt
Mix everything together until the wings are fully coated.
👉 Let the wings sit for at least 20–30 minutes to absorb the flavor.(If you have time, let them marinate longer for deeper flavor.)
Prepare your egg mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together – 2 eggs and1 cup water
This helps the breading stick and gives you that textured, crispy coating.
Prepare the breading: In another bowl, combine:
All-purpose flour. Cornstarch. Garlic powder. Savory Thoughts Chipotle seasoning
Mix well so everything is evenly distributed.
👉 The cornstarch is key here—it helps create that light, crispy crunch.

  • Coat the wings: Working one at a time:
Dip the seasoned wing into the egg mixture.
Transfer it into the flour mixture.
Press the coating onto the chicken to create texture.
👉 For extra crispiness, double dip:
Back into egg → back into flour
Place coated wings on a tray and let them rest for 5–10 minutes. (This helps the coating stick better when frying.)
Fry until golden and crispy: Heat oil to 350°F in a deep pot or fryer.
Carefully add wings in batches (don’t overcrowd). Fry for about 8–10 minutes, or until:
    Golden brown
    Crispy on the outside
    Fully cooked inside
Remove and place on a rack (not paper towels) to keep them crispy.
Bring it all together: Once your wings are hot and crispy:
Toss them in your honey garlic chipotle sauce
Or serve the sauce on the side for dipping
👉 Serve immediately while they’re still hot, crispy, and sticky
