Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).In an oven-safe bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon and ginger, salt, and water. Coat the sweet potatoes: Add your peeled and cut sweet potatoes to a mixing bowl. Pour the glaze over the top and toss until everything is evenly coated.
Air fry: Place the sweet potatoes in your air fryer basket in a single layer (cook in batches if needed). Air fry for 20–25 minutes, shaking halfway through, or until the yams are tender and caramelized.Glaze & serve: Pour the syrup from the bowl over the cooked yams. Let them rest for a few minutes — the glaze will thicken beautifully as it cools.
